29 Faces Round III - Face 1

Well I'm doing the 29 Faces in February challenge again!  Here's Face #1:

Face #1
Violet
2 x 2.5"
Oil on canvas panel

This time around all of my faces will be oil paintings on tiny 2x2.5" canvas panels.  I will also offer them for sale, probably in my ETSY shop but possibly some will go on eBay as well.  I plan to list a week's worth every Saturday, so if you'd like to be notified when they're available please let me know your email address.

I know this is last minute, but I realized I've been neglecting my little blog recently.

Five Random Things

Beach Buddies the Next Generation
4"x6"
Oil on Canvas

This month’s Nibblefest Contest is “Five Random Things.”  This theme was a little tricky for me because in Wibbley World, everything is random and therefore nothing is random.   Anyway, I put out a call to the Wibbles for a “mega-chimera” and look who showed up:  Sea Monstery!  I know, you’re saying “but there are SEVEN creatures* in that Mega-Chimera, not five!” but either Sea Monstery is an overachiever or he’s just not good at math.   Then I thought to myself, “but this isn’t truly random, and those Nibblefest administrators can be real hard-asses about stuff like this.  If I know what’s good for me I’d better throw some other random elements in this painting, pronto!”   So I added thePorthole (with concerned citizen), pink bunny in a cup with wheels, a spoon, a delicious orange lollipop, and of course a snowman.  Overkill perhaps, but better safe than sorry I say!

*elephant, giraffe, seahorse, sea lion, winged insect, poodle, and trees.

Uney in the Magical Forest

Uney in the Magical Forest
3"x 9"
Oil on Canvas

I know you’re probably thinking, “How can that be a unicorn, I don’t see any hearts or rainbows!  Well I really tried to convince Uney to pose with a rainbow in the Magic Forest, but he wasn’t having any of it, he said that’s “sissy stuff” and I could count him out (his words, not mine!!)!  Apparently Uney is a “REAL” unicorn, not like what you see in those fantasy stories (plus it was night and there aren’t many rainbows at night anyway, fantasy or no).  He didn't want me to take this picture but I had to prove I saw him, right?  He was actually quite mad and stormed out, didn't see me snap this picture as he was trotting down the path with his flower and his basket of treats.  He'd be so mad if he knew I was selling this on ebay, but maybe he won't find out.   Unicorns can be so thoughtful and mysterious.

I don’t think that octopus was expecting to be caught on camera either, probably thought he was safe behind that tree, the sneak!

Uney is my October Nibblefest entry, our theme this month is Fantasy.  Please click on Uney to go to the auction (which ends p the 27th).

Pool Party

"Pool Party" I don’t know if this ever happens to you, but sometimes I’ll go to drink my coffee and there’s “stuff” in it, plus it looks like it’s been spilled. I quizzed the cats and they insisted they weren’t involved, so I set up a spy camera and look at what I found:

I know! I can't believe it either! I’m still in shock - Bloo and her friends go SWIMMING in my COFFEE when they think I’m not looking? What is this world coming to?!  And Bloo was supposed to be the "good one!"

Here's a link to the auction, if you're interested (it's only a three day auction since I got a late start on it).

This painting is 4 x 4, oil on masonite panel.

Lunchbox in Fairyland

I see I've been slacking off in the posting department, I thought I'd posted something since May, but apparently not!

Anyway, here's my Nibblefest for this month, it's called "Lunchbox in Fairyland"

Lunchbox in Fairyland
2.5 x 3.5
 oil on panel

This month’s Nibblefest contest theme is “Fairies,” and I was stuck for a model. Not one of my other characters was willing to play Fairy for me. I didn’t even ask Lunchbox because he’s a boy (fairies are more of a girl thing), plus I didn’t think it would work so well with his diaper, but he heard about my dilemma (from Soft & Fuzzy Johnson, no doubt) and really stepped up to the plate. He put on those fairy wings like a real trooper, what a good sport he is!

If you look at his expression though, you can tell this isn’t his premium choice, in fact he’d rather be doing almost anything else. But you know what? He has his lunch-pail and his diaper, so everything will be ok. When you have your lunch-pail and your diaper, you can rule the world (or Fairyland at least).

Let’s hear it for Lunchbox!
