Maybe this is the famous"Little Red Hen" or maybe it's a rooster?  The wooden figure which inspired it looked much more like a rooster, but this one seemed a little girlier.  Maybe I've brought out his feminine side!

This is painting #8 in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.  As much as I love painting, this is really taking a toll on my time, and we're only at day eight!

30/30 Challenge, Day Seven: Cute Little Puppy

Cute Little Puppy

For day seven of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge, I present "Cute Little Puppy."   Maybe it's something else, but it looks like a puppy more than anything else and I'm a little short on time to figure it out.

30/30 Challenge, Day Six: Little Girl in Pink

Girl #6

Whenever I do these challenges I like to try to include a human face or two, mainly because I don't do them very often and would like to do better. This one was based on one of my vintage dolls, a Muffie, who is from the 50's.

This painting #6 in a challenge in which I am to make 30 paintings in 30 days.

Sorry I'm a little short on time if I want to do any painting tonight, I can't be as chatty as I usually am.  Maybe you can talk to Girl #6 instead.

30/30 Challenge, Day Three: Soft Pink Owl

Soft Pink Owl

For day Three of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge, I have painted my iPhone case - a  pink owl with golden eyeballs, which sadly is not as soft or fuzzy as this little guy, although it is very practical since it also doubles as a wallet (my iPhone case that is, not the painting)!

I may be biased, but I think this little fella is pretty cute!

I just realized that I never provided info on the challenge itself!  It's being hosted by Leslie Saeta, on her blog.  There are hundreds (400 I think) of artists who have signed up for this challenge, and we all have been posting links to our daily paintings on Leslie's blog, please check it out!

30/30 Challenge, Day Two: Scary Blue Turtle Monster

Cat Balloon Invasion

Painting number two is  a portrait of a blue, turtle like creature that's a little creepy I think (I'm 90% certain that the wooden figure I used as a inspiration was a turtle). But since this is Wibbley World, nothing bad ever happens and you can just relax now.   I like to call this painting "Cat Balloon Invasion" because to me, that's what appears to be taking place here.

30/30 Challenge, Day One: Fuzzy Bunny

Well I'm doing another challenge, this one is 30 paintings in 30 days!  It's getting late and I need to go back to work tomorrow, so this won't be as wordy as some of my other posts.

What I'm doing for a theme is making paintings inspired by actual things I have here in my studio.  Ideally I would like to post the inspiration piece but in the interest of time (since I also work full time) I may not get to that part right away.

All of these paintings will be 3"x3", oil (probably) on wood panel.  They will also all be for sale in my ETSY shop, again in the interest of time I may not have them available in my shop right away, but if anyone is interested you can also purchase them directly from me.

Anyway, this is #1, a portrait of a little needle felted bunny I had made a few years ago.  As of now he is nameless:

Thanks for your interest in my work!

Merry Christmas, Pickle Bear

Merry Christmas, Pickle Bear
4x4, Oil, Rhinestone & Glitter on Panel

Poor Pickle Bear.  He was so excited to have been invited too a holiday party (finally) to which he was instructed to wear his best holiday sweater.  It was a tough decision, but he picked the one with the moose licking a candy cane next to a giant snowflake, he thought this was the most festive since the moose has a rhinestone eye and there's glitter everywhere!  And nothing says "Christmas" like a moose with a rhinestone eye and glitter!  And did I mention that Pickles made the sweater all by himself??

Now I know you're wondering why Pickles looks so sad - well he's just discovered that this is really an "Ugly" holiday sweater party and he's worried that others will think his sweater is ugly and make fun of him!  But in true Pickle Bear fashion he soldiers bravely on, with a smile on his face despite the tears in his eyes.  And look!  There's Lunchbox, giving Pickles and his sweater two thumbs up!  Now we know everything will be alright :)
