The Secret Life of Toys

"I thought that kid would NEVER go to sleep! And where the heck is Andy, he was supposed to be here 15 minutes ago?!!"

Dolls these days!! I guess it's true that you just can't get good help anymore. On the other hand, at least she's not stealing the jewelry or breaking the fine china.

This is my latest Nibblefest entry, our theme this month is "The Secret Life of Toys." All entries start at just 99¢, no reserve!

I have my childhood Raggedy Ann that I renamed Anacin when I redressed her in a leopard print scarf and put a safety pin in her cheek during the punk era. And by the way, her little dress and apron went on my teddybear who I decided needed to be in drag.

Anacin, what a great name! How is she dressed now?

I don't still have my childhood RA's, but went through a brief (thankfully because it was getting expensive) phase where I collected them. I have a few old ones but a lot are repros of the old ones.

Oh man! This is my favourite painting of yours. EVER! It's so comical! I had a raggedy Ann, too :)

Really? Wow, thanks Lilly! I had some doubts about this one so that's really good to hear!

Sad to say Anacin is no longer with us, I had a cat who hated her apparently and did her in. Still have the bear though.

Oh no, poor Anacin (that name still cracks me up)! Maybe she antagonized your cat (thinking of another Secret Life of Toys painting - the punk rock RA teasing the cat!).

Those older RA's aren't very durable either, they can't be washed & you have to be so careful even spot-cleaning them. I have an old Georgene RA that I got on ebay, well I thought I'd just spot clean her face, but the fabric just disintegrated! Fortunately my friend was able to fix her up but she does have some spots that can't ever be repaired.
